Nesvizh is located 55 miles ssw of Minsk and about half way to Vilna. It has been described as tiny but beautiful with well-paved streets which lead to and from
the center of town. The Jewish community lived there for hundreds of years. Nesvizh was a center for fairs. Jews engaged in crafts, commerce, horticulture and agriculture. The town had a textile
factory, a sawmill and a cooperative Jewish bank.
